September 2021 : project management assistance mission in Djilas - Senegal
1st AVe mission "project management assistance" for the construction of a dispensary and a maternity hospital in Djilas, a village located 150 km south of Dakar
Following the request of a religious congregation, Eric, an AVe expert specialized in building design, carried out a project management assistance mission for the renovation and construction of a dispensary and a maternity ward in their health center in Djilas. The size and condition of the current buildings no longer correspond to the rapidly increasing demand or to the standards of hygiene and cleanliness. The congregation of the sisters has been established since 1974 in the village of Djilas located about two and a half hours from Dakar.

The expert's work consisted first of all of gathering the various needs from the nursing staff and the midwife while taking into account the wishes of Mother Marie José Villain, the general bursar of the congregation. Before establishing the project, we visited a dispensary, an achievement built in 2018 in the village of Mbodien, located on the small coast. Mother Marie José Villain wanted the project to be inspired by this achievement. Based on this visit and the wishes of the different actors, the expert drew sketches for the new project.
We then met with Mr. Diatta, the prospective contractor for the work. Mr. Diatta manages the company Abytechnologie, which is a general building contractor. He drew up plans according to the sketches we provided him. These plans were examined, commented on and modified after analysis, and finally approved by all the parties involved.
As the first plot of land was too far from the main road, the future buildings will be built on a new plot of land. We are currently waiting for the results of the soil study and the costing of the operation.
A second mission to Senegal should take place soon in order to validate the work contract and to assist in the start of the work.
