A project management assistance mission for a maternity hospital and dispensary in Djias, Senegal, lasting 2 years: from 2022 to 2024

	Inauguration of health center in Djilas

Beginning of the mission in September 2022, first trip to Senegal in October with Mother Marie José, Mother Superior of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Thomas de Villeneuve; visit to the land on which the project is to be built; drawing up of plans for two buildings, a dispensary and a maternity hospital, each measuring 1000 m2, with the participation of Sister Marie Gisèle, head of the Djilas community. 

Drafting of the specifications, taking into account the adjustments and modifications made by the sisters, which enabled  the contractor, Mr. Diatta, to put a figure on the project; after checking the estimate and the usual negotiations, preparation of the works contract; trip to Senegal for the signing of the contract in December.  

Back in Senegal at the beginning of October, the elevations of the two buildings are nearing completion, then in February 2024, I see that the dispensary's framework is being erected, the plasterwork on the facades has been completed, and the electricians have begun their incorporation work.  

October 2024, visit to take delivery of the two buildings, a few minor reservations are noted, which the contractor promises to resolve before the inauguration. The facility has been in operation since early September.

On Saturday November 30, 2024, the dispensary and maternity ward were inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries and an impressive number of villagers.
