March 2023 : Marketing mission for a cocoa cooperative in Ivory Coast
Agreement signed with CADESA, cocoa cooperative in Ivory Coast CADESA is a dynamic cocoa cooperative in the Sassandra department of Ivory Coast. Created in 2003, the cooperative collects and markets cocoa beans from its 1,800 producers. In 20 years, it has achieved a number of milestones: an increase in the number of producers, a rise in tonnage, consideration of environmental and social aspects, recognition for export sales.....
In 2023, the cooperative hopes to reach a new milestone by finding a European chocolatier willing to enter into a partnership to set up a chocolate factory in San Pedro (the world's leading cocoa bean export port).
An agreement was signed entrusting AVe with a marketing mission to seek out this future partner. AVe expert Pierre took charge of this mission. |

February 2023: Mission to Senegal

Follow-up of the construction site of a dispensary and a maternity hospital in Djilas Senegal At the end of February, Eric, an AVe expert specializing in building management, went to Djilas to check, in situ, the progress of the construction site of the dispensary and the maternity hospital. Observation on the spot: The works started at the end of December 2022, once the water connection was realized. Currently 18 workers are working on the site. For the maternity hospital, the foundations are finished as well as the installation of the longrines (reinforced concrete beams). Next will come the passage of the underground networks and the slab of the first floor. For the dispensary, the foundations are 90% complete. General assessment: the company is doing a very good job, the schedule provided suggests that the work will be completed by the end of the year. |

February 7, 2023: AVe's annual general meeting by videoconference On February 7, 2023, our association held its annual general meeting by videoconference. Almost all members were present. The activity and financial reports for 2022, the orientation report and the 2023 budget were presented and voted. For 2023, we envisage a development of the activities after three years of emptiness due to the COVID and the war in Ukraine which strongly impacted the travels abroad |
February 2023: Framework agreement with the French leader in pig genetics AXIOM

Objective of the partnership : the development of professional pig farms in AFRICA
After a few months of exchange between our two organizations during which each was able to appreciate the activities developed with the African pig breeders in their respective field, it appeared relevant to each organization to finalize a framework agreement of partnership having for objective the development of the professional pig farms in Africa. The framework agreement provides for the sharing of information sheets on pig farming in Africa (about thirty) representing our common reference system of advice, the provision of 4 AVe experts to support groups of African pig farmers selected by AXIOM, and collaboration on training for African pig farmers. The concrete actions of intervention in the various African countries will be contractualized by country/country endorsements. |

Signature of a 2nd agreement with a religious congregation for a follow-up of a health center in Senegal
The first agreement signed in March 2020 concerned a support to the project management for the creation of a dispensary and a maternity in Djilas in Senegal. Eric brought his expertise for the plans, the specifications of the two buildings and the relationship with a local building contractor. He carried out this work remotely and by travelling to the site three times. Now the construction site is launched. The 2nd agreement concerns the follow-up of the construction site until the buildings are put into service.. |

Intervention of an AVe "project management" expert in Djilas Senegal
At the end of October 2022, Eric, an AVe expert, went to the commune of Djilas, south of Dakar (Senegal), to a health center belonging to a religious congregation. This was Eric's second trip to Djilas. The objective of the mission was achieved: following meetings with different companies (construction, water connection, electrical connection...), the contract for the construction of a new dispensary and a new maternity ward was finalized and signed.

May 2022 : Celebration of the 10th anniversary of AVe
On May 31, 2022, AVe celebrated ten years of transferring volunteer expertise internationally
In 10 years, some thirty AVe experts have carried out 125 missions abroad. 15 of these experts met at the Cammpanile hotel in Rennes center station to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the association. The day was animated by Mr Nona Barazer of SODIMEDIA with the program :

February 2022 : support to two women's cooperatives in Benin

Technical and economic support to two women's cooperatives involved in irrigated agro-ecological market gardening In February 2022, Louis AVe expert went to two villages near Djougou in Benin, a mission programmed in the framework of an agreement signed with a Belgian association, the ASBL Le Verso du Miroir. This association has set up two vegetable gardens of 2 ha in two villages 5 km apart. On each of them, a women's cooperative practices irrigated agroecological market gardening. For each garden, the expert wrote a roadmap based on the diagnosis of each site. Their situation is very different, as one (Passari) has been in place since 2016 while the other (Nimane) has just started. |
